This is a space where you can find some of my diverse interests, crafts, noise-making objects and more. Some of this directly relates to my performance and research. Others are just things I like to do.

things that go round...

I recently did a course in ceramics at the Edinburgh Design School. I loved the tactility and gestural play working with the clay. Working at the wheel is immensely theraputic, with the repetitive turning and significance of the slightest touch.

Volunteering with the Edinburgh Tool Library gives me the joy of being part of a wonderful family of woodworkers and creative minds, and I have had the chance to foray into the world of wood-turning, my first project being the honey dripper in the picture (thanks to Joe for the guidance!). I'm interested to develop this skill with the mind to making some hollow entities in wood that can be played either percussively or bowed...first some practice at the lathe...

I will be adding more here in the near future. This is where my brain is right now. Watch this space for small projects, and the gradual development of my new musical instrument/sonic sculpture.
